A Bright Object Filmed at Almoradi, Spain, Filed as 30 October 2026

Almoradi, Vega Baja del Segura, Alicante, Valencian Community, Spain  ·  30 October 2026  ·  Eyewitness Footage

An enlarged frame from the filed recording, showing the bright object sitting directly on the overhead electrical conductor above the ruined farmhouse, in full daylight. Across all 245 frames the object stays within one conductor bundle width of this line. (Witness recording filed to ufosighting.report (report 13205), enlargement by UAP Globe)

A diamond shaped object was reported spinning and hovering erratically over the Vega Baja. The footage is bright daylight, the filing says 9:27 at night, and across all 245 frames the object never leaves the power line it is sitting on.

What did witnesses see at Almoradi?

A resident of Almoradi filed footage of a bright object reported as hovering and spinning over the Vega Baja. Three witnesses were recorded, the shape was given as diamond and the movement as hovering, circular, unpredictable, erratic, random, smooth and with abrupt changes in direction.

The archive copy of the recording runs 8.17 seconds and displays at 458 by 630. It shows a rural scene in flat daylight: a ruined single storey farmhouse with a collapsing tiled roof, a tall palm, rough grass, a line of trees, a parked white car at the bottom of frame, and a set of overhead electrical conductors running across the sky above the building. The object is a small, bright, white, roughly oval blob which sits among those conductors.

The filing records the time as 9:27 PM CET on 30 October 2026, the observer facing southwest, closest distance given as above the trees, apparent size as a golf ball at arm's length, and the capture device an iPhone 12. The reporter answered No to wings and noise, Unsure to rotors and exhaust plume, and Yes to flight without visible means of lift and to being hard to observe clearly. Coordinates were randomised to within about five kilometres at the reporter's request.

Two things about the file are established by measurement rather than by argument, and both are set out below. The stated time cannot be right, and the object does not appear to be flying.

What is the official explanation?

No agency has commented and there is no press coverage. The archive records the official narrative as absent.

The solar geometry was computed for the filed coordinates and date using a standard solar position routine, validated first against two results already in this archive so that the numbers carry a control: the routine reproduces the documented Cascais figure of 19.46 degrees of solar depression exactly, and the documented Milwaukee figure to within 0.35 degrees.

At the filed time of 9:27 PM CET on 30 October 2026, which is 20:27 UTC, the Sun was 39.78 degrees below the horizon at Almoradi. That is deep astronomical night. Sunset that day falls at approximately 6:05 PM CET, and by 7:27 PM CET the Sun is already 16.34 degrees down.

The footage is unambiguous daylight. The sky is pale blue with haze, the grass and trees carry full colour, the farmhouse masonry and roof tiles are directly lit, and the parked car shows specular highlights. There is no twilight gradient anywhere in frame. So the recording was not made at the time the filing states, and the error is not marginal: it is the difference between full daylight and the Sun being nearly 40 degrees below the horizon.

The consequence extends to the filing's own automated content. The sky context block attached to the report lists four satellites above the horizon between 20:15 and 20:42 UTC, including a FREGAT debris object at 34 degrees. That block was computed for a night sky that the footage shows was not the sky being filmed, so it is void for this case, and in daylight no such object would have been visible in any event.

The archive keeps the filed date of 30 October 2026 because nothing contradicts the date itself, only the time. The footage establishes only that it was shot in daylight, which at Almoradi on that date means between roughly 7:10 AM and 6:05 PM CET.

What did the witnesses think it was?

The reporter's account is short, and notably open:

"I observed a bright, luminous object in the sky that looked like a sphere or a cone. It caught my attention because it was spinning and moving in a completely erratic way, unlike any normal drone or aircraft. I am completely open to mundane explanations, but I wanted to share the footage to see if anyone can help identify what it was."

Asked why it was not a common object, the reporter wrote: "I checked FlightRadar24 right after the sighting, and there were no aircraft registered in that direction or area at that time. Additionally, the movement was way too erratic and fast for a standard commercial drone or a standard balloon, and it was completely silent."

The thread reached a near unanimous reading within the first few replies, and it reached the correct one. The first substantive comment read "Looks very much like a white plastic bag caught on a power line, flapping in the breeze." Others followed with "Looks like something is dangling from the power line", "Pair of white sneakers on a power line?", and one commenter raised shoe tossing specifically. One further comment is worth recording for its own sake, because it is a fair criticism of the genre rather than of this reporter: "Another video where the object falls into the unidentifiable valley. We are very rarely seeing any videos where the object takes up more than a few pixels in the image."

The reporter has not responded in the thread and has made no further claim.

Is the A Bright Object Filmed at Almoradi, Spain, Filed as 30 October 2026 real? The two-pass assessment

Pass one, how this could be mundane.

The thread's answer was tested rather than adopted, because a popular reading in a comment section is a claim like any other. The test asks a single question: is the object attached to the power line, or is it merely passing in front of it?

The method is simple and the control is what makes it mean anything. In every frame the bright compact object is located, with long thin structures excluded by extent and aspect so that the conductors themselves cannot be mistaken for it. In the same frame the dominant near horizontal dark structure in the sky region is fitted as a straight line by robust iterative regression, with the object masked out so it cannot bias its own reference. The perpendicular distance from the object to that fitted line is then measured.

The object was located and the line fitted in all 245 frames of the clip. The median perpendicular distance from the object to the conductor line is 16.9 pixels. The residual scatter of the line fit itself is 17.5 pixels, because the scene carries several roughly parallel conductors rather than one, so that figure is the spread of the bundle. The object therefore sits within 0.96 of a bundle width of the wires, which is to say inside them, in every single frame.

The control is decisive. A randomly chosen point in the sky region of the same frames lies a median of 162.5 pixels from the same fitted line. The object is approximately ten times closer to the conductors than chance would place it. And it holds that position while being carried 227 pixels across the frame, which is half the frame width, by the movements of the handheld camera.

An object attached to a wire tracks the wire exactly as the camera moves, which is what is observed. An object flying in front of or behind the wires would cross them, and over 245 frames and half a frame width of apparent travel it would not remain inside a 17 pixel bundle.

The silhouette measurements agree with the same reading. The object's apparent area ranges from 6 to 160 pixels with a coefficient of variation of 72.4 per cent, and its aspect ratio swings from 0.60 to 5.00. A rigid body does not do that. A light, flexible object twisting and flapping on a wire in a breeze does exactly that, continuously, and it is also what produces the reported spinning and the reported changing shape. The reported erratic movement, in a clip whose camera is handheld and zoomed, is the same artefact already measured in the Corio case in this archive: apparent motion of a small target under an unsteady camera.

The witness's own reasoning can now be read back with the answer in hand, and it holds up better than it may appear. The check of FlightRadar24 was sound and returned nothing because there was no aircraft. The object was silent because it was a small object on a wire a short distance away. The movement was erratic because the object was flapping and the camera was moving. Every observation the reporter made was accurate. The inference drawn from them was not.

Pass two, if the prosaic reading fails.

The measurement that carries this case is a geometric relationship between the object and a fixed structure in the same frame, and it is not sensitive to the identification of what the object is made of. For pass two to survive, an object would have to be holding a position inside a bundle of electrical conductors, within about one bundle width, through 245 consecutive frames and half a frame width of camera travel, at a distance where it subtends a few tens of pixels, while changing its outline by a factor of 26 in area. That is a description of something hanging on the wire.

The case is tiered Strongly Disputed. It is not tiered Discredited, and the distinction matters. There is no evidence whatsoever of a hoax. The reporter filed an honest account of something genuinely puzzling, volunteered the checks they had run, stated outright that they were open to a mundane explanation, and asked for help identifying it. That is a good faith report of real footage which turns out to show an ordinary thing, and this archive has a settled practice of not treating that as deception.

The object is most likely a light coloured flexible item caught on the overhead line: a plastic bag, a piece of cloth, or the footwear the thread suggested. The archive deliberately does not name which, because the footage does not resolve it, and demonstrating the class is not the same as identifying the object.
